Indie perfume: Crushed Velvet by Haus of Gloi review

Haus of Gloi Crushed Velvet

I NEED someone to explain to me why I’m SO FREAKING OBSESSED with this perfume! I’m way too stubborn and indecisive to have a signature scent, but if I did, this would ABSOLUTELY be a top contender.

Crushed Velvet is part of Haus of Gloi’s Valentine’s Day collection, but you can purchase it year-round. And I will.

The fact that I adore it so much is odd. I mean, I do love Haus of Gloi, I think their fragrances are high-quality and super well-blended. But based on the notes of this, I shouldn’t be SO enamored with it.

The notes are: rich caramel and chocolate (I love gourmands but these are not my particular favorites), delicate oncidium orchids (idk even know what that is but I normally dislike florals), bergamot (a citrus, as we all know), raspberry (nice), golden amber (sure, I like that), and dark, aged patchouli (noooo).

It is made up of things I don’t normally go for: chocolate, florals, and PATCHOULI. But my GOSH, the way I just can’t stop wearing this perfume. It’s rich, it’s bright, it’s interesting, it’s nostalgic in a hard-to-place kind of way.

I first had it as a linen spray, and it was kind of a “hmm, sure, let’s check that out” impulse purchase. And I loved it. So I got it in a lotion. I finished that at a world-record pace. And then I realized they had it in an EDP, and I already need a backup or six, it’s SO FREAKING GOOD.

Okay, I’m sorry for being weird and intense about this perfume. I just wish more people would smell it so we could geek out about how good it is. Anyway, is “Crushed Velvet” a strange name for my firstborn child, or…?

lol jk. Probably. 👀 Please go buy it, I need to TALK ABOUT IT.

Buy it here! And then message me on Instagram so we can talk about it 🙂
